Mise À Jour: Summer Job Struggles, lots of cooking and independent study

Processed with VSCO with c8 presetThe last month and a half has gone a little slow.  Probably because of university and my negative anticipation for the next academic year.

Academics| I have been spending a lot of my time immersing myself into Japanese language and culture through some books I have bought and the media.  I’m also still pacing myself through my TEFL course.  Since I’m not in Education because of the summer holidays, I have been looking for a summer job too which has been so difficult.  It is so competitive and all of the summer jobs teenagers and young adults used to do seem to be taken up by older people and I’m thinking maybe because of the economy and businesses trying to save as much money as possible.

Eats| Since June is country cooking month I have been eating a hell of a lot more homemade meals than usual.  My favourite so far has been homemade pasta.

Reads|  I’ve done quite a lot of reading over the last month and a half.  Mainly comics and Manga but some books too.  I’ve read Men without Women by Haruki Murakami, Orange by Ichigo Takano and more.

Wears| The weather has been so wonderful in the North West so a lot of white and sky blues have been worn.  I’m also really loving the banker stripe trend.
